The Evening Star is a dramatic film directed by Robert Harling as a sequel to the Academy Award-winning Terms of Endearment as the story of Aurora Greenway (Shirley MacLaine) continues after her daughter's death in the previous film. It has been fifteen years since Aurora lost her daughter, Emma (Debra Winger), and though she had tried her best to give her grandchildren a good life. Despite her overbearing ways, she tries to keep the oldest Tommy (George Newbern) from repeating a jail stint, inspiring the ne'er do well Teddy (Mackenzie Astin) while putting a lot of pressure on the youngest, Melanie (Juliette Lewis). Aurora has also moved away from her earlier romance with Garret Breedlove (Jack Nicholson) and into a love affair with MORE [EDIT]
