The Cowboy and the Indians

The Cowboy and the Indians is a 1949 western directed by John English. Soon after Gene (Gene Autry) buys the Bar B Ranch, he discovers that Indians from the local reservation are bringing their sheep to his land in order to graze. He also hears that the Indians are stealing food from other families in the area. When he goes to the reservation to discuss the matter with the chief, he discovers that the Indians are suffering from malnutrition. Upon talking to Broken Arm (Charles Stevens), Gene learns that Smiley Martin (Frank Richards), the trading post operator on the reservation, is stealing their food rations. He is also taking their possessions so that he can sell them to Fred Bradley (Alex Frazer), a greedy dealer of Indian artifacts. After hearing of Smiley's corruption, Gene teams up with his friend Lakohna (Jay Silverheels) so that they can work together to bring him to justice. MORE [EDIT]
