The Comedy of Terrors is a 1964 comedy/horror film directed by Jacques Tourneur. During the 1890s, 92-year-old Amos Hinchley (Boris Karloff) runs a struggling New England funeral parlor with his son-in-law Waldo Trumbull (Vincent Price), a lazy alcoholic who is abusive to his wife, Amaryllis (Joyce Jameson). Since Trumbell has not paid his rent for over a year, his landlord, John F. Black (Basil Rathbone), says that he is going to evict him if he does not pay what he owes. In order to get the money, Trumbell decides to kill a millionaire and then get his family to pay for a lavish funeral service.
