The Christmas Cottage is a sentimental family drama released in 2008 and directed by Michael Campus. The film tells the story of American painter Thomas Kinkade (Jared Padelecki), known as the "Painter of Light". The story opens in 1977, when Kinkade was a college student at Berkley. He arrives home for Christmas break and learns that his mother (Marcia Gay Harden) is in danger of losing her home because she cannot afford the mortgage payments. A local artist, Glen Wessler (Peter O'Toole) marshalls the community together in an attempt to save the Kinkades from homelessness. Along the way, young Thomas develops a warm friendship with Wessler that blossoms into an apprenticeship and leads to the development of the MORE [EDIT]
