The Chosen is a dramatic film that details the journey of friendship between two young boys and discovers if they are able to overcome their differences. This film is set in Brooklyn, New York during the 1940s, near the end of World War II. Two young Jewish boys, Danny Saunders (Robby Benson) and Reuven Malters (Barry Miller) are both raised in Brooklyn, but by two very different sets of parents. Danny's father, Reb Saunders (Rob Stieger) is a Hassidic Rabbi. He is a very strict father, commanding that his children follow his rules and his teachings.
