The Cheetah Girls

The Cheetah Girls is a 2003 Disney musical comedy based on the popular children's books. Although they attend a Manhattan high school dedicated to fashion design, Galleria (Raven Symone) and her best friends Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon) and Aqua (Kiely Williams) show remarkable talent as a singing/dancing girl group at a talent show. Their music teacher, Drinka Champagne (Sandra Caldwell), once a pop star during the disco years, thinks they have what it takes to make it in the pop world and recommends that they try to cut a record deal. They meet the producer for Def Duck Records, Jackal Johnson (Vincent Corazza), who likes their act but also expects them to change to suit the market and his pocketbook. The foursome soon discovers that their music careers may cost them their friendship, until Galleria's mother, Dorothea (Lynn Whitfield), steps in.
