The Brotherhood

The Brotherhood is a 1968 action drama about two Mafia brothers who are pitted against each other after an act of revenge. Frank Ginetta (Kirk Douglas) is a Mafia boss who wants to avenge the death of his father and 21 other Mafia members who were executed several decades prior. Frank stays at odds with board members Jim Egan (Murray Hamilton), Domonick Bertolo (Jim Adler), Sol Levin (Alan Hewitt) and Rotherman (Val Avery) because of his reckless behavior and resistance to new ideas. Frank's younger brother Vince (Alex Cord) becomes an unwitting pawn in the power struggle between himself and the board. After Frank performs a hit on a longtime "made" friend without the board's approval, he must flee New York to save his own life. Frank hides in a small Italian town with his wife Ida (Irene Papas), pondering his own fate as well as the fate of the brother he left behind. MORE [EDIT]
