The Border is a 1982 crime drama directed by Tony Richardson. Charlie Smith (Jack Nicholson) is a U.S. Border Patrol Agent who has recently been transferred from California to Texas. There, he meets veteran Border Patrol agents Red (Warren Oates) and Cat (Harvey Keitel). Smith just wants to do his job well and take care of his family to the best of his ability, but his wife Marcy (Valerie Perrine) keeps pushing him to provide her with a wealthier lifestyle. He soon finds out about the corruption happening along the border, and finds out that his new partner, Cat, is involved in illegal activities for monetary gains.
