The Beetle is a movie that is based on the story of Yishai Orian, the movie's director, who is obsessed with his old Volkswagen Beetle. However, he is about to become a father and he is told in no uncertain terms by his wife that they cannot take the baby in that car. She thinks it is too unsafe and that he must get a new car. He is distraught, as he has an emotional attachment to the car that goes back a number of years. He now decides that he will do whatever it takes to keep and upgrade his car. He goes to the previous owners, a mechanic named Jordan and anyone else he can think of for help.
