Surfwise is a 2008 documentary about surfing, family and alternative living. Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz left his successful medical practice to experience life outside ordinary America. A noted surfer, he loaded his wife and nine children into a converted VW bus and lived their life on the road. The family followed a strict eating and living regiment that the doctor crafted out of his health principles of organic foods and athletic living. In particular, the entire family surfed. The family became famous on the surfing circuit, and middle brother Israel "Izzy" Paskowitz became a world-famous surfer.
