Superman: The Movie is a superhero film directed by Richard Donner based on the DC comics character, Superman, beginning with his alien origins to his quiet upbringing in Smallville, Kansas as Clark Kent, and to his ultimate future as the iconic Man of Steel with a titanic struggle with an arch nemesis in the likeness of Lex Luthor.
