Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation is a 2004 science fiction/horror film and the sequel to 1997's blockbuster action film Starship Troopers As with the original film, Starship Troopers 2 follows a group of mobile infantry soldiers during humanity's war with a deadly alien race of giant bug-like creatures. The film begins with a squad of soldiers pinned down and outnumbered on an alien planet inhabited by the Arachnids. A few of the soldiers escape and set up a temporary base in an abandoned structure nearby. At the shelter they find Dax, a disgraced soldier accused of murder and left to die in the unmanned base.
