Star Trek: Insurrection is the ninth film in the Star Trek franchise. Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the rest of the Next Generation cast return to save the Ba'ku population, the peaceful inhabitants of a planet with unique youth-sustaining abilities. After a sinister group, called the So'na, try to take the planet for themselves, the Ba'ku must rely on the crew of the Enterprise to save their home and culture. Captain Picard faces a double threat, as he must also struggle with Starfleet command.
