St. Ives is a 1976 crime drama that was directed by J. Lee Thompson. In the film, Raymond St. Ives (Charles Bronson) is a struggling fictional crime novelist who is down on his luck. He is recently divorced with alimony to pay, living in a cheap motel and dealing with a severe gambling addiction. So, when his lawyer offers him an opportunity to make some quick money, he jumps at the chance. The job is to negotiate the safe return of a journal belonging to professional burglar, Abner Procane (John Houseman). Procane is well known in the L.A. area and was planning a very ambitious heist when his plans were stolen.
