Somersault is a 2004 Australian film written and directed by Cate Shortland and starring Abbie Cornish as Heidi, a sixteen-year-old on a quest of self-discovery as she learns through trial-and-error the differences between sexual contact and love. Heidi has emerged from the innocence of youth with an enthusiastic need for human contact. As pure as her intentions may be, her eagerness to explore her sexuality lands her in some troubling places.
