Snake in the Eagle's Shadow is a 1978 Hong Kong martial arts film starring Jackie Chan in an early role as Chien Fu, an orphan adopted by an abusive kung-fu school. One day, he meets another outsider. An old beggar named Pai Chang-tien (Yuen Siu Tien) wanders the streets, hungry and sore. Young Chien Fu offers Pai Chang-tien a place to sleep and something to eat. The old man sees how abused and unhappy the young kung-fu student is, so he reveals his secret—he's the lone surviving member of a powerful school of kung-fu called Snake-style. He teaches Chien Fu the elaborate footwork that makes the Snake-style so difficult to defeat.
