Sixteen Candles is a 1984 romantic comedy about Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald), an awkward teenage girl whose whole family forgets about her sixteenth birthday in the midst of her older sister, Ginny's (Blanche Baker) wedding. As Sam tries her hardest to catch the attention of her high school heart-throb, Jake Ryan's (Michael Schoeffling) attention she runs into a world of chaos with the annoying freshmen (Anthony Michael Hall) who cannot get enough of her and the gorgeous blonde, Caroline Mulford (Haviland Morris) who is dating the man of her dreams.
