Single White Female

Single White Female is a thriller film made in 1992 starring Bridget Fonda as Allie Jones and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Hedra "Hedy" Carlson, Allie's new roommate. As Allie starts to achieve success at work, she finds that he fiancé Sam has cheated on her, leading to her kicking him out of their apartment, which she can't afford on her own, leading her to seek a roommate. At first, Hedy seems like the perfect roommate- she's happy to cook and clean, and provides the support Allie needs to get over her breakup. Unbeknownst to Allie, Hedy even erased messages that Sam has left in an attempt to apologize, but he eventually gets through and the two start to get back together. When Hedy learns of this development, the puppy she bought Allie mysteriously dies, and Hedy's clothes and hair start to match Allie's exactly. When Allie gets suspicious, she does research only to find that her new roommate isn't who she says who she is, from her name to her criminal record. Hedy's real name is Ellen, and when she was younger, she had a twin sister who died, leading to a history of taking on the look of other women to try to replace her twin. Her former roommate in Tampa was found dead and it looks as if Allie is next, but not before Hedy targets Sam and anyone else who tries to protect her. MORE [EDIT]
