Singin' in the Rain is a 1952 musical comedy starring Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, and Donald O'Conner. Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) are two silent film stars making their way into the world of talkies. After a chance meeting with Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds), Don begins to rethink his leading lady. Despite Kathy saying she is a stage actor and has no respect for films, it turns out she is a chorus girl and a big fan of Don Lockwood. Don and Lina's new film the Dueling Cavalier is converted into a talkie after the public's demand for the genre grows. The film is a disaster as the dialogue and technical aspects are far from perfected. Don and Cosmo Brown (Donald O'Conner) decide to dub Lina's voice with Kathy's and transform the Dueling Cavalier into a musical called the Dancing Cavalier. Lina is not happy with the development until the new talkie becomes a huge success. Kathy is conflicted as she has done the work to make the movie popular, but lacks the recognition received undeservedly by Lina.MORE[EDIT]
