Shoot-Out at Medicine Bend

Shoot-Out at Medicine Bend is a 1957 dramatic western written by John Tucker Battle and D.D. Beauchamp and directed by Richard L. Bare. The film stars Randolph Scott, Gordon Jones, Angie Dickinson and James Garner. The film tells the story of Buck Devlin (Randolph Scott), John Maitland (James Garner) and Wilbur Clegg (Gordon Jones) who, seek revenge and justice in the Old West. These three recently discharged cavalry veterans travel west to investigate the sale of defective ammunition to a Calvary unit commanded by Delvin's brother. The sale resulted in the slaughter of the entire unit during a battle with Indians. The investigation leads to a corrupt businessmen, Ep Clark (James Craig), who through threats, deceit and the sale of faulty products is quickly gaining a stranglehold on the small community of Medicine Bend. Seeking to bring Clarke to justice the men take jobs within Clark's enterprise, but draw suspicions to themselves. Clarke then develops a plan to lure the threesome into their deaths.
