She's Having a Baby is a 1988 romance directed by John Hughes. When Jake Briggs (Kevin Bacon) marries Kristy (Elizabeth McGovern), little does he realize how much his life is about to change. Still somewhat immature, Jake takes Kristy to New Mexico to finish his Masters degree. Before finishing, Jake drops out telling Kristy "it's like high school with ashtrays." Returning to Chicago, Jake lies about his background and lands a job as a copywriter at an advertising company. Kristy starts work as a research analyst and the two buy a three bedroom home in the suburbs.
