Sherlock Holmes: Terror by Night

Sherlock Holmes: Terror By Night is a 1946 mystery film in the Sherlock Holmes series, starring Basil Rathbone as the sly detective Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson. In this film, Sherlock Holmes has to solve the case of the theft of a high profile diamond, aboard a train. Assigned by the wealthy widow Lady Margaret (Lady Forbes) and her son Roland (Geoffrey Steele) to watch the stone during its journey, Sherlock Holmes is flabbergasted when the stone vanishes and Roland is murdered. Now, together with Dr. Watson and Inspector Lestrade (Dennis Hoey), Sherlock Holmes must discover the murderer among the train's passengers and make sure that he or she does not make off with the valuable stone at the end of the journey. Sherlock Holmes, the world's favorite detective, has his hands full again, and viewers rooting for him to succeed as the train nears its destination. Will he solve the crime in time?
