Sheena is a 1984 film based on the classic comic book series about the daughter of two geologists who are killed while researching the healing properties of a sacred African jungle. The orphaned girl is taken in by Shaman (Princess Elizabeth of Toro), a woman belonging to the Zambouli tribe. The child is an outsider, but her arrival fulfills a prophecy of a child of the Gods who would become Queen of the Jungle. Sheena grows up and learns how to communicate with the jungle animals. She is a fierce warrior, proficient in all blunt and blade weapons. Trouble starts when some greedy government officials discover the commercial value of the titanium-rich jungle soil. When mercenary soldiers infiltrate the jungle to clear out the indigenous tribes and prepare the area for strip-mining, it's up to Sheena to defend her adopted home from the forces of corporate greed. Tanya Roberts plays Sheena, the beautiful warrior and the first female character to ever have her own comic book series.MORE[EDIT]
