Sand is a 2000 American drama written and directed by Matt Palmieri. When his mother suddenly dies leaving him next to nothing, Tyler Briggs (Michael Vartan) flees from a hard life in Barstow for better prospects in the beach community where is mother grew up. He quickly finds peace in his new home, gets a job, makes several friends and starts a relationship with Sandy (Kari Wuhrer).
