Saginaw Trail is a 1953 action-adventure "mid-western" directed by George Archainbaud. Starring Gene Autry, the film takes place in the wilderness of Michigan and is set in the year 1827. As the story begins, Gene, an officer in Hamilton's Rangers, leaves his home on the dusty range and heads to the great white north of Michigan on a mission to clean up the Saginaw Valley from an evil French fur trader named Jules Brissac (Eugene Borden) and his henchman Miller Webb (Myron Healey). Aided by Delaware Indian renegades, Brissac and Webb have been attacking white settlers in an attempt to protect their interests in the fur trade and stop people from moving into the valley.
