Rootin' Tootin' Rhythm

Rootin' Tootin' Rhythm (1937) is a western musical about a case of mistaken identity and the protagonists' adventures of trying to find the reality in the situation. Complementing the movie's plot, comedic relief and action rule the story line with intermissions of live musical performances by the main characters. The movie begins with Gene Autry and his sidekick, Frog Milhouse (Smiley Burnette), chasing a couple of cattle rustlers. Instead of capturing them, they stumble upon two dead men and don their clothes as disguises. As they continue their search for the rustlers, the "disguises" serve the contrary purpose of making them even more conspicuous; people mistake them for the murderous cattle thieves. Now, their goal has an added dimension; they must find the thieves without being prosecuted themselves. The plot twists and turns as Gene and Frog uncover surprising answers to new questions that develop as they constantly find clever ways to escape the confines of trouble. MORE [EDIT]
