Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles is a movie that picks up where the 1985 Robotech television series left off, detailing the fallout following the final battle between the Invid (the alien invaders of Earth) and the Robotech Expeditionary Force, the military organization out to overthrow the alien invaders. Robotech is a classic anime franchise, centered around giant robotic machines, or mecha, created using advanced alien technology discovered on an alien starship that crashed on Earth. The story has spawned many incarnations, including the popular Macross saga.
