Reds is a 1981 drama in which Warren Beatty writes, directs, produces, and stars. The film centers around the life and travails of John Reed, a radical American journalist from the early 20th century who documented the Russian Revolution and tried to bring change to the United States. John Reed (Warren Beatty) was a community activist in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. One day, he meets the acquaintance of a married woman named Louise Bryant (Diane Keaton), who is also politically passionate and fervently advocates women's rights.
