Rebound is a comedy film that revolves around one man's return to the basketball world. Roy McCormick (Martin Lawrence) is considered one of the best college basketball coaches in the world. However, his temper gets the best of him at times. During one particular game, Roy gets angry and accidentally kills the mascot of the other team. He is banned from college basketball until he is able to prove his temper is under control. The only job he is able to get is with his childhood basketball team at Mount Vernon Junior High School. He hesitantly accepts the offer hoping that a few weeks there will prove he is more mentally stable. At first it appears that Roy is in over his head, but he soon adjusts to his new position.
