Raising Flagg is a dramatic comedy about an elderly handyman named Flagg Purdy (Alan Arkin) who stirs up an entire town with an ill-tempered fit. Flagg's loving wife, Ada (Barbara Dana), knows her husband is kind at heart, but the rest of the community sees him as a stubborn grouch. When Flagg accuses his long-time friend and neighbor Gus Falk (Austin Pendleton) of cheating at checkers, the conflict escalates to a law suit, which Flagg surprisingly wins. Now, shunned by former friends and overwhelmed by self-pity, Flagg claims he is on his deathbed and asks to see his six grown children one last time.
