Queen - Under Review 1980-1991

Queen : Under Review 1980-1991 is a documentary that highlights the career of the smash hit band Queen for more than a decade. The film, released in 2006 from MVD Visual entertainment looks deep into the personal and professional lives of Queen band members from their early days on the road with Flash Gordon, to the death of band member Freddie Mercury. The film contains a mixture of media types including studio recordings, live concerts, interviews with band members and journalists, and newly recorded reviews from field experts. Under Review comes after the band found their signature sound, so there is very little experimentation with the musicality. Queen took risks during the 70s, which made their sound more mainstream during the 80s, allowing the band to rise to the pinnacle of their career. Instead the band is working to perfect the well-oiled-machine that is their tour career. The film's portrayal of the band is honest, painting a bittersweet image of the band's rise to stardom.
