The Prince of Central Park is a 1999 drama about a 12-year-old boy, J.J. Somerled (Frankie Nasso), who is left in the care of a neglectful foster mother, Mrs. Ardis (Cathey Moriarty), after his mother disappeared years before. J.J. escapes from Ardis after an abusive episode and heads off to New York to find his mother. He takes with him a broken portable keyboard, his favorite possession, and arrives at Central Park, the place where J.J. has the last good memory of his mother.
