Pretty as a Picture: The Art of David Lynch is an exploration of American filmmaker, David Lynch. Known for his surrealist films such as "Dune," Lynch has introduced the film world to a unique cinematic style that has become known as "Lynchism" and is characterized by dream imagery and meticulous sound design. Beyond his filmmaking, he also pursues other artistic passions which lend themselves to his creativity. Produced during the filming of "Lost Highway," this documentary includes footage of Lynch at work creating a motion picture. His artistic explorations are shared on an intimate level and lend themselves to a deeper understanding of creativity. Lynch also shares what has inspired him over his lifetime, from the time he first began to draw as a small boy to his life-long quest for creative expression.
