Peace is all Howard (Kurtwood Smith) wants after 40 years of married life with Betty (Nancy Lenehan). He's retired from the job that gave him a place to go during the day and he's having trouble adjusting to life in his golden years. All he wants is one minute of peace. He's always had a temper, but now he's having more and more trouble keeping his temper from flaring every few minutes as Betty tries to be a loving and attentive wife. In a last-ditch effort to salvage his sanity, and their marriage, Howard makes Betty a promise. He will not yell at her, not even once, for an entire day.
