Painter Of The Land visits Georges Adrian on his farm in France. The land was passed to Georges by his father and has been in his family for generations. The farm lies between the two towns of Lacoste and Bonnieux in the Southern Provence of France. Georges is a farmer and the land is his canvas. Filmmaker Joel Fendelman was in Lacoste, France when he came across the farmer. Fendelman, a Miami native, had no connection to farming and became intrigued. In French, Georges describes how he prunes an olive tree and covers his melons to help them ripen. The filmmaker presents farming as a method of "painting the land" with Georges being the artist.
