Paheli

Paheli is a 1977 Bollywood family drama, directed by Prashant Nanda. Leaving his village home, Brij Mohan (Nitin Sethi) moves to Bombay city, but his mother (Durga Khote) refuses to leave with him and prefers to remain alone in their lavish home. Soon after, Brij gets married and his wife gives birth to a baby boy. However, she soon tragically passes away. Years later, Brij becomes a successful businessman, while his son is in his final year in school. Brij requests his son to visit his grandmother in the village. Montu agrees on condition that he is accompanied by his friends. When they reach the village, they are faced by many challenges that cause his friends to go back to the city, leaving Montu behind with his grandmother. Soon after, Montu befriends an orphan village girl Gauri (Nemeeta Chandra), and their love blossoms. While at the village, he also meets a hard-pressed farmer together with his mother and fiancée. Montu goes back to the city, but hopes to return to the village the following year. When he does so, he finds many changes had taken place during the time he was away. MORE [EDIT]
