One Bright Shining Moment is a 2005 political documentary that chronicles presidential candidate George McGovern's amazing run towards the presidency during the 1972 election. McGovern, a democratic senator from South Dakota, achieved the seemingly impossible by defeating party favorites Hubert Humphrey and Edmund Muskie to win the Democratic nomination for the presidency that year.
