Nirvana: The Untold Stories gives fans a new look into the band that changed rock and roll music in the early 1990s. Kurt Cobain, singer and guitarist, formed the band in 1987 with bassist Krist Novoselic. They had their first big hit in 1991 with Smells Like Teen Spirit from the band's second album, Nevermind. Their success brought alternative rock and the Seattle grunge scene into the mainstream music industry. Soon, Nirvana, with Cobain as its spokesperson, was considered the Generation X flagship band. The group released a third album, In Utero, in 1993. The band's phenomenal success came to an abrupt halt in 1994 with Cobain's suicide. The documentary provides additional insight into the people behind the music, with interviews including friend of the band Slim Moon, music producer Jack Endino, early manager Ryan Aigner, and Cobain's grandfather Leland Cobain. The interviews offer up some nuggets of Nirvana trivia and footage and still photographs of the band's early days.MORE[EDIT]
