Night Stage to Galveston

Night Stage to Galveston is a 1952 western directed by George Archainbaud. At the end of the Civil War, the U.S. government decides to replace the Texas Rangers with the State Police. Shortly after the corrupt police take power, police chief General Slaydon (Robert Livingston) begins to brutally abuse the helpless citizens. Determined to bring an end to the police chief's evil reign, ex-Rangers Gene (Gene Autry) and Pat (Pat Buttram) decide to expose his crimes in the Sentinel, a newspaper run by Colonel Jim Bellamy (Thurston Hall). However, General Slaydon hears of their plan and ambushes Colonel Bellamy, injuring him and preventing the paper from being published. Since Gene and Pat know that they will need help to bring General Slaydon to justice, they decide to round up all of the former rangers to fight against him. As they work to accomplish their goal, the general tries to thwart them at every turn. MORE [EDIT]
