Music and Lyrics is a romantic comedy from 2007 that was directed and written by Marc Lawrence. Former pop star Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) is struggling to make ends meet as a composer while his old partner, Colin Thompson (Scott Porter) is floating on a successful solo career after their band PoP!'s success in the 1980s. Alex is given one more chance to make it big; the teen singing sensation Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) has hired Alex to write a single for her. Alex struggles with the new task as his part of PoP! had always been to write the music and not the lyrics.
