Monkey Trouble

Monkey Trouble is a 1994 family comedy directed by Franco Amurri and produced by Mimi Polk and Heidi Rufus Isaacs. The film stars Thora Birch, Mimi Rogers, Christopher Mcdonald, Harvey Keitel and Finster the monkey. Monkey Trouble's plot centers on nine-year-old Eva Gregory (Thora Birch). Eva desperately wants to have a pet to call her own, but her mother Amy (Mimi Rogers) does not think she is responsible enough to take care of a pet and her step-father Tom (Christopher Mcdonald) is terribly allergic to all animals. One day, while in the park, Eva meets an adorable Capuchin monkey (Finster). Eva names the monkey Dodger, hides him in her backpack, takes him home with her and keeps him a secret from her parents. Dodger recently escaped from his drunken and abusive owner named Shorty (Harvey Keitel). Shorty is enraged when he finds out that his monkey is gone and vows to get him back at any cost.
