Midnight Witness is a thrilling tale of police corruption and the fear that comes with being on the run from the law when you've done nothing wrong. Paul (Paul Johansen) and his wife, Katy (Karen Moncrieff) are in the wrong place at the wrong time. They witness a pair of cops brutally beating a Latino driver to death. Paul uses his camcorder to record the event. Garland (Maxwell Caulfield), one of the cops, finds out about the recording and pins the murder on the young couple. He assigns himself and his partner to the case, and they go after Paul and Katy, who make for Las Vegas in the hopes of finding someone who can help them shake the crooked cops and clear their names.
