Macross 2: The Movie is a Japanese animation movie about an alien race and their peculiar methods of invading Earth. The Macross, or Superdimensional Fortress Macross, is a military complex used to protect the Earth from invasions, but has for some time now lay dormant and inactive. But with the newly discovered invasion of the Zentraedi, it is activated again, and through the power of music, their forces are defeated. But nothing is as simple as it seems, as Hibiki Kanzaki (Tsutomu Takayama) is caught up in a romance with Ishtar (Hiroko Kasahara), a Zentraedi princess who is in danger of being killed by renegades.
