Love and Other Disasters

Love and Other Disasters is a 2006 romantic comedy with Brittany Murphy as a British magazine editorial assistant looking for love. When it comes to romance, Emily Jackson (Brittany Murphy) does a better job of setting up her friends Tallulah Riggs-Wentworth (Catherine Tate) or her gay roommate Peter Simon (Matthew Rhys) than finding someone for herself. Emily, known as Jacks to her friends, spends more time with her ex-boyfriend, James (Elliot Cowan) than seeking out new possibilities. While working on a photo shoot for British Vogue, she meets photographer Paolo (Santiago Cabrera), an attractive and funny man who she assumes is gay. She brings him home to meet Peter, but Emily does not realize that Paolo just wants to get to know her better. Once Peter realizes Paolo's true intentions, he helps him get through to the clueless Emily. Alek Keshishian (Madonna: Truth or Dare) directs this fresh take on finding romance. MORE [EDIT]
