Los Bastardos is an award-winning film from Mexican-American director Amat Escalante. It is a tale that takes place in LA over a 24 hour period showing how the life of housewife Karen (Nina Zavarin) becomes inextricably entwined with the lives of two illegal-immigrant day laborers, Jes''s (Jesus Moises Rodriguez) and Fausto (Rub''n Sosa). Karen lives a lonely life, struggling every day to communicate with her withdrawn adolescent son and battling drug addiction. Meanwhile, the workers' day begins standing in front of Home Depot, hoping to earn enough money to live on.
