Logan's Run is a 1976 futuristic science fiction thriller directed by Michael Anderson and based on the novel of the same name by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson Set in the 23rd century, the movie depicts a world where the last members of human civilization live inside of a sealed domed utopian city that is run by a high-tech computer. The computer controls all aspects of the human's lives, including reproduction. At the age of 30, every member of the society must undergo the ritual of Carrousel, where he or she is killed by vaporization with the promise of one day being renewed. At birth, every human is implanted with a Lifelock crystal in their palm, the crystal keeps track of a person's lifespan and changes color as the time for Carrousel vaporization approaches. The computer, to ensure order, has assigned some humans to work as Sandmen. The Sandmen's job is to hunt down people who run in an attempt to escape Carrousel. Logan 5 (Michael York) is a Sandman who, after killing a runner, learns about a secret sanctuary made up of people helping runners. The computer instructs Logan to find the sanctuary and destroy it, and accelerates the color change of his Lifeclock to red, marking him for execution. To escape his own Carrousel, Logan must become a runner.MORE[EDIT]
