Little Shaolin Monks is a documentary film directed by Bai Haibin that centers on the lives of a small group of children, ranging between the ages of six and twelve, that spend their life completely isolated from the word in the infamous Shaolin Temple. Chosen to train, live, and eventual teach the next generation, those children are expected to study their religion, Buddhism, along with academia to hone their minds as they learn the fine art of shaolin wushu to hone their bodies. With their lives dictated and controlled, Little Shaolin Monks chronicles the rare chance one of the children had as he travels to Tiananmen Square. It is a real look at the often-idolized Shaolin Monks, an exclusive group revered by other children and people around China, as those children become part of the legend and viewers learn what it takes to become a Shaolin Monk.MORE[EDIT]
