Kiss: Asylum of Death: Interviews brings together rare interviews from the early days of glam rock band Kiss during its debut album tour in 1974. Kiss formed in New York City in 1973, using outrageous stage outfits and full face paint to set themselves apart. Their live performances have included fire breathing, smoking guitars, elaborate pyrotechnics and blood spitting. The self-titled album was released in 1974 and the tour began Feb. 5, 1974, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Frontman Gene Simmons had his first televised interview with Mike Douglas in April that year and declared himself "evil incarnate." While early record sales were disappointing, the aggressive tour schedule and high-energy concerts gave the group a reputation as a must-see act. Much of the band's signature stunts were developed during the debut tour. The content for the film came from numerous private collectors and includes unreleased behind-the-scenes material with band members Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, and Simmons.MORE[EDIT]
