Kicking & Screaming is a family comedy starring Will Ferrell as Phil Weston. Phil is a family man who does everything he can in order to get the attention and approval from his father, Buck Weston (Robert Duvall). The pair are constantly competing and Phil typically loses. With a family of his own, Phil tries not to have the same competitive nature that he was brought up with, but it all changes when the two of them have sons who are playing on opposing soccer teams. Phil ends up coaching his son's team and will stop at nothing to beat his father. He takes away the fun aspect of playing the sport and takes on his father's dysfunctional temperament.
