Journey to the End of the Night

Journey to the End of the Night is a 2006 crime thriller in the gritty Sao Paulo sex industry directed by Eric Eason. American ex-patriate Sinatra (Scott Glenn) runs a Brazilian brothel with his son, Paul (Brendan Fraser). Both men would like to leave the underworld, but the opportunity does not arise until they discover a suitcase filled with drugs left by a client murdered in their establishment. Sinatra negotiates a drug sale that will fund his return to the States with his wife, Monique (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and younger son. Paul hopes to leave behind his life of cocaine and gambling, and also his feelings for his stepmother, a former prostitute. The father and son convince their club's dishwasher Wemba (Mos Def), a Nigerian immigrant, to handle the transaction with their African liaison. Wemba agrees to the dangerous assignments in hopes of a lucrative payoff, but the crime-ridden streets of Sao Paolo will challenge their carefully laid plans. MORE [EDIT]
